21 Day (Jesus + YOU) Challenge: Day Five

Hebrews 4:14 – 5:11

Jesus didn’t just die on the cross for our iniquities, sin, and infirmities; giving us freedom and redemption through His death but He also chose to be born into our world as we are – being tempted as we are, yet, never sinned. God does everything for a reason; no action, word…NOTHING is in vain. There is always purpose; even in the little details.

Christ walked in a shell of flesh so that He could:

  1. Know our weaknesses and what we face every day. He was tempted as were are.
  2. To show us that it is possible to live without sin. Jesus came to demonstrate how we are live, act, pray, fast; be a child of God.

We are to take up our cross daily. What does that mean? Deny ourselves, our flesh, and our own desires and choosing to follow Him; What He wants for us, what His desires are for our lives.

Thank God for His mercy and grace. These gifts are often taken for granted. We sin, knowing that we would be forgiven. We take them lightly. But we forgot that there was a price paid for it. He lived on this earth, felt temptation but never sinned, was beaten, spat on, hated, despised, and murdered so that we could come boldly (without fear and condemnation) to the throne of grace and mercy.

Sometimes we do things that are not according to the Word of God, we ask forgiveness, but we sometimes have a hard time forgiving ourselves. We feel condemned. Yet it says in the Word that we are free from condemnation. Satan condemns. We need to learn to forgive ourselves, turn our back on that sin, and move forward toward the throne of grace and mercy that he paid dearly for. Let it go.

Repeat: I forgive myself.

Let go.
