21 Day (Jesus + YOU) Challenge: Day Eight

Hebrews 7:1-19

This weeks memory verse is Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”

Here the writer is speaking to the Hebrew people; instructing them about the difference between the old Levitical Priesthood they knew so well and the new High Priest – Jesus Christ.

The Bible says Jesus, the High Priest, came “not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life….bringing in a better hope, through which we draw near to God.”

Jesus Christ died on the cross, three days later rose and sat at the right hand of the Father – became our High Priest; bringing us into a new covenant with God and being made righteous before God when we accept Christ into our hearts and seek forgiveness.

The New Covenant brings hope, a far contrast to the old.

21 Day (Jesus + YOU) Challenge: Day Seven

Hebrews 6:9-20

There are a couple of things I gleamed from thus scripture:

  1. God has given each of us a promise, a call. Sometimes it feels like that call He placed on our life seems to be taking forever or not happening at all, yet we are to wait patiently…for if we do, the promise will be obtained.
  2. God doesn’t lie…He can’t lie. What He said, He will do. Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should repent. Has he said, and will He not do? Has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”
  3. Hope needs to be the anchor of our soul. Hope is a feel of expectation and desire; a feeling of trust. Everything about us must be anchored in hope, in our trust in God; expecting the best – knowing who we are in Christ.

21 Day (Jesus + YOU) Challenge: Day Three

Hebrews 3:1-15

I like how it says in verse 6 that we are the house of the Lord if we take hold and not let go of the confidence and rejoicing of hope; firm to the end. Hope is defined as “a feeling of expectation and desire for a thing to happen” and “a feeling of trust.” As children of God, He makes us his dwelling place…His living tabernacles…that carries God’s presence wherever we tread. Yet it says that we must be confident and rejoicing in the Lord; trusting in Him to the fullest.

The Word also says that, as children of God, we must not go astray in our hearts but stay strong in faith; not moving to the left or right but staying on course.
